With the new version 1.7.4, Breath of the Wild is now playable and can be completed from start to finish. Youtuber YamGaming showed a little gameplay on how the performance of this game runs in the new version of Cemu, and the result can be seen that the game runs smoothly at 30 FPS and all bugs and glitches in the previous version have been fixed, making the game now final.

If you are interested in playing this one game, you only need one condition, you must have a PC with relatively high specifications. Here are the specifications that YamGaming uses as a reference:

  • i7 6700k @ 4.3ghz
  • GTX 1070 G1 Gaming
  • corsair h110i AIO
  • EVGA 600b PSU
  • 16gb Ripjaw 5 @ 2400mhz
  • Asus z170-a
  • Kingston SSD 120gb

Although playable and can be completed, the current emulation can not be said to be perfect. Some effects in the game are still buggy and there are some areas where performance drops from 30 FPS. Even for some hardware configurations such as CPUs from AMD reportedly still experiencing framerate and texture problems.

Version 1.7.4 of Cemu is only available for Patreon donors, and will be publicly released on April 9th. Not only Breath of the Wild which is now smoother in the new version, several other games get significant developments from this new version. Here is a video shown by Youtuber Reznoire which shows a direct comparison between version 1.7.3 and 1.7.4.
