To Honor George Floyd's Death, Rockstar Had To Shut Down Their Online Game Servers

America is currently in a precarious state due to the news of the death of a black citizen from the city of Minnesota at the hands of the police in an inhuman way. Because of this, many protested because it contained a strong element of racism. Many developers and publishers sympathize with this incident. Rockstar Games, 2K Games, and Take-Two Interactive have sympathized with this incident by temporarily shutting down their online game servers.

We are now officially on the platform Tiktok! Follow our Tiktok account at @gamebrott.com to find various information and our other interesting video content.

The games they temporarily shut down were Grand Theft Auto Online, Red Dead Online and NBA 2K for 2 hours last Thursday. This action was put in place to honor Floyd’s death.

Floyd was a black citizen who died on May 25 in Minneapolis after being detained on the ground by several police officers. What is unfortunate about this incident is how the policeman locked Floyd by pressing his neck with his feet causing a lack of oxygen supply that Floyd needed to breathe.

Rockstar shut down their servers last Thursday at 2.00-4.00 PM EDT or at 1.00-3.00 AM GMT +7.

This tragic incident triggered protests from various circles, causing the riots that are happening in Minnesota today.
