According to CNBC (via IGN), the game publisher’s studio is selling WB Interative for “about $4 billion” with a deal under which they can still earn a portion of their IPs like LEGO and Batman Arkham.
This sale is said to include several studios owned by WB Interactive from NetherRealm, Rocksteady, and TT Games. CNBC reports that this information came from an anonymous source close to the company. From the information they got, EA, Take-Two, and Activision Blizzard are the three companies that have shown interest in buying experts from Warner Bros.’s gaming division.
The sale of WB Interactive is reportedly one of AT&T’s efforts to reduce their massive debt which is currently estimated at around $165 billion. At the time this article was written, both WB and AT&T did not want to respond to this rumor.
