Lea Leonowicz, senior concept artist at CDPR, has shared some pictures of what Johnny would look like before it was decided that Keanu Reeves would play the character. As you might guess, it doesn’t look much different from what you see in the game.

You could say, after playing the entire game directly, the final version starring Keanu Reeves looks much better, at least because players are already attached to the final version. But it’s still an interesting illustration of how design can change throughout game development.

Cyberpunk 2077 has been released with a controversial reception especially on consoles, technical issues continue to damage the game’s reputation and CDPR is now trying its best to fix all these problems through periodic patches.
