Dying Light 2’s Development Has Been Hampered

Based on a report published by The Gamer, they gathered a number of testimonies from anonymous sources who are currently employed or have been employed by Techland. Among the many allegations, it appears that the company’s management is having a negative effect on the morale and workflow of its employees.

This makes the development of the Dying Light sequel experiencing delays. Furthermore, The Gamer said that there were at least 20 staff who had left Techland for the past two months.

Most of the problems come from harsh demands as well feedback which the management gave, namely, Pawel Marchewka. He and his manager are alleged to have rejected the advice of studio experts and forced them to use ideas from other games.

Whenever an expert starts advising on this game, the boards disagree. As a result, they begin to slowly become alienated from projects and responsibilities. This causes them to leave or eventually leave. To make a career at Techland, you have to be obedient.

For your information, one of Techland’s veteran employees, Pawel Zawodny wanted to try to make something new to Dying Light 2. However, this effort did not get approval and made him have to use Unreal or Unity. This led to a dispute between Zawodny and Marchewka that led the veteran to leave the studio.

Another problem that the studio staff seems to be facing is Marchewka’s demands that the game’s features be attractive.

One of his super strict rules for design is “an idea you can’t implement if you don’t have references from other games”.
