[Rumor] Resident Evil Village Will Be The Trilogy Closed by the "Resident Evil 9" Series

The story of Ethan Winters will not end in the Village series?

The existence of Lady Dimitrescu’s character has indeed succeeded in attracting such a big magnet for the series Resident Evil Village. This character is indeed shown very temptingly even though his height is too abnormal. Even so, he is allegedly still a thematic antagonist character that may only appear in the series. While the story and role of Ethan Winters as a character that the player controls can continue to be explored in the Resident Evil series after Village.

Yes, rumors as well as narrative assumptions have recently surfaced. Another Resident Evil leaker who is known as credible as AestheticGamer aka Dusk Golem in twitter account, he just announced something interesting regarding the relevance of the Resident Evil Village series to the series mainline Resident Evil before and after.

Based on the information provided by Dusk Golem, the Resident Evil Village series will indeed be present like a direct sequel to the Resident Evil 7 series. However, this game is also a prequel to the new Resident Evil series after that. In other words series mainline The 7th, 8th (Village), and 9th Resident Evil itself is being prepared by Capcom as a trilogy with adjacent forms of development.

In particular, Dusk Golem mentions that Resident Evil Village presents a story that can make some things in the Resident Evil 7 series make sense. Regarding what it is, he did not explain further (because it includes spoilers) in addition to the presence of the series Resident Evil 9 which serves as the conclusion of the trilogy.

The story, setting, theme, and whether or not Ethan will return as the main character for Resident Evil 9 are still quite speculative to discuss. Dusk Golem itself has not been able to provide this info. However, he strongly suspects that Capcom will no longer provide simple title names with “numbers” for their next new Resident Evil games.

Perhaps including the Resident Evil 9 series which is ready to come with a naming format that is no less unique than “Village”, Capcom is reportedly looking to take that approach in order to present a story that feels more new and unique. If this information is true, it is undeniable that Capcom wants to encourage fans to enjoy a new era for the Resident Evil franchise.

Meanwhile, the Resident Evil Village game series will soon be released. This game is ready to launch as a package with the Resident Evil multiplayer game – RE:Verse on May 7, 2021 later for platform PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X, and PC (via Steam).
