10 Free to Play Games on Steam That You Must Try

Surely you all know the Free to Play game, right? Such as PB, Counter Strike: Online and many more Free to Play games. However, there is one thing that makes Free to Play games considered bad. IAP (In-App Purchase). In App Purchase in Free to Play games is usually a premium currency, can be used to buy weapons, cosmetics, etc.

We are now officially on the platform Tiktok! Follow our Tiktok account at @gamebrott.com to find various information and our other interesting video content.

Well, on Steam there are also many Free to Play games, and many also have IAPs and get ‘Mixed’ or ‘Mostly Negative’ reviews. Even so, there are not a few Free to Play games on Steam that are really good and must be tried even though they have an IAP. Here are some examples of cool and free games. Keep in mind that the list below is my opinion and not in order. If someone has a different opinion, that’s fine. Check it out!

1. TROVE

Trove is a relatively new free-to-play game on Steam. Trove is an action MMO game with Cube World-like graphics and Minecraft-like gameplay. Trove provides a lot of content that won’t bore you like crafting. Trove is a fairly light game, meaning you don’t need a high-end PC to play this game. This game got a positive 75% score (mostly positive) from 15,147 people who reviewed this game. Want to know more about Trove? Check out the following review written by Gamebrott contributor, Yobely Juniartha.

2. Unturned

This list would not be complete without zombie games. Unturned is an exciting zombie-survival game of DayZ and Minecraft that will take your time. Unturned is a game by a Canadian named Nelson Sexton. Although this game is made by one person, but this game has a lot of content. This game is also light, because the graphics of the game are very simple – aka boxes. The developer, Nelson is also active in updating this game. It’s only natural that this game gets a positive 92% score (mostly positive) from 139,942 people. In my opinion, this is a very fun game, especially when played with friends. IAP in this game is only an upgrade that will add cosmetics, loot opportunities, etc. which does not have a big effect in this game. This IAP is a one-time-buy and can be purchased at a price of Rp. 45,000 (when this rubric was written).

3. Warframes

Are there any Free to Play games that provide solid gameplay as well as really good graphics? If this is your question, then the answer is Warframe. Warframe is a third-person-shooter action game that provides a campaign that can be played with friends as well as online pvp features. This game also requires patience because you have to do leveling/grinding. Warframe takes place in outer space. Warframe scored 91% positive (mostly positive) out of 62,016. The IAP itself is in the form of ‘packs’ such as booster packs, warrior packs, honor packs, each of which contains different contents.

4. Dota 2

Everyone knows this game. How come? Dota 2 is a million people game. For example, if you go to an internet cafe, most people now play Dota 2 compared to other games. This strategy + competitive game is indeed loved by many people. A Dota 2 gamer can spend more than 500 hours. Dota 2 requires strategy. And just imagine, there are many heroes with different skills. From 408,578 reviews, 92% of them are positive (mostly positive). Of course, it’s a game made by Valve.. Dota 2 also has its own tournament which was recently won by Evil Geniuses (one of the pro teams that participated in the TI5 Championship held by Valve).

5. Team Fortress 2

Forget Point Blank, Cross Fire, Black Squad. Team Fortress 2 is the best free FPS game. With good-looking graphics (cartoony), classes, lots of gamemodes, Team Fortress 2 will make you addicted. The items in TF2 are usually used as ‘currency’ for bartering on Steam. There are IAPs in the form of cosmetics, namely ‘hats’. From 276.113 reviews, 96% of them were positive (overwhelmingly positive). It can be seen from the review that this game is a must-try = must try.
