Crytek: There is no GPU that has penetrated 30 FPS in Ultra 4K settings Crysis Remastered

Can it run Crysis? From 2007 until now, this meme is still being thrown around by the PC community. But with the release of Crysis Remastered this week, that question is again relevant.

A few days ago, Crytek announced that this remastered version will offer graphic settings “Can it run Crysis?” which is where the setting is claimed to be testing the extreme PC hardware you have.

Not only does it offer highly detailed textures and the highest quality lighting, this “right-aligned” setting will boost LOD (level of detail) to an infinite degree. That means the game will not have pop-up textures at all and you can see every angle of the scene in the game in the best quality.

Reporting from PC Gamer, Steffen Halbig, project lead from Crytek, revealed that the mode Can it run Crysis? no kidding drain framerate. Starting as a mere joke during a meeting, Steffen finally managed to persuade his colleague to implement this setting which he was sure would not run smoothly on current hardware.

“For 4K resolution, there isn’t a GPU out there yet capable of running ‘mode’can it run Crysis’ at 30 FPS,” explained Steffen to PC Gamer. It seems that Steffen’s words are not mere nonsense. Reporting from DSOgaming, the RTX 2080Ti is only able to reach 38 FPS at this setting at this resolution 1080p, then it is certain that the game will not touch the 30 FPS number at a higher resolution.
