Every year our age increases by one year, but relatives and friends don’t always remember when it’s your birthday. It’s understandable, everyone is busy and you’re an adult, not a kid anymore whose birthday should always be celebrated with cake and confetti., but sometimes it’s hard not to feel disappointed to see the absence of a surprise on a special day.

Unlike humans, software and games always remember your birthday, and programmers don’t hesitate to insert surprises when that day arrives. Here are the games we mean:
1. Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain

5. Fire Emblems Awakening and Fates
In Fire Emblem Awakening or Fates, all characters have their own birthdays that can be celebrated including your character which you set yourself. When a special day arrives, while in the barracks, all NPCs will wish you a happy birthday. You will also get some items as gifts.
6. Multiple Pokemon Series
I’m not a big fan of the Pokemon franchise, so I can’t be sure which series I have easter eggs this, but what I know for sure is Pokemon X and Y for the 3DS being one of them.
Each series may have its own way, but I will explain the scenarios that occur in this series. When you enter the Pokemon Center on your birthday, everyone will be silent and the game will be as if freeze. NBut in a few seconds, confetti will appear on the screen and the nurse will wish you a happy birthday.
7. Tomodachi Life
Nintendo really cares about your birthday, and Tomodachi Life is another game that has this feature. You could say this game is a weird version of Animal Crossing, and just like Animal Crossing the game will celebrate your birthday if you play the game on that day. You will be taken to the apartment of your mii character, then given a cake and singing a song Happy Birthday.
8. Death Stranding
Another game from Hideo Kojima is included in this list. It’s hard to describe what happened on your birthday in this game given the narrative elements that are going to be spoilers if told. In short, there will be a cake given to the character Sam that you play.
9. Seaman
Seaman is a strange and experimental game. The game has neither objectives nor challenging gameplay, you just try to communicate with a fish with a human face via the mic on the Sega Dreamcast controller and he will answer as well as he can.
If you play on your birthday, it will likely ask you when you were born. If the game correctly responds to your answer, the fish will wish you a happy birthday which is then followed by questions like “why do you want to spend your time with me?” or other cynical questions.
