3 Playstation 5 Facts That Have Been Revealed So far!

Last week, Sony had posted on its blog announcing some of the features of the PlayStation 5. Sony also revealed a very important release schedule that will arrive in 2020.

With the PlayStation 5 set to arrive next year, here are the 3 Playstation 5 Facts we’ve known so far.

PlayStation 5 Facts

3. Controller

PS 5

This PS 5 controller will have haptic feedback on the left and right sides which will replace the vibration feature of the previous controller. Haptic Feedback is a technology that creates a broader, completely different vibration.

For example, the Switch has HD Rumble which is a form of haptic feedback. Sony hasn’t released details about the haptic feedback in question, but it looks similar to the HD Rumble and will have varying levels of vibration to simulate what’s happening on the screen.

The PS5 controller will also feature adaptive triggers for its L2 and R2 buttons. Wired has also confirmed that this controller will use a USB Type-C connector for charging. This means that the controller will charge much faster just like today’s Smartphones.

Despite having a higher capacity and heavier weight, the PS 5 controller is still lighter than the current Xbox One with the battery inside. The speakers in the controller will also return with a more solid upgrade.

2. Features

Playstation 5

Prior to the recent announcement, we already knew a few things the PS5 would be showing, one of which was that it would still play physical games. The PS 5 will use a solid state drive or SSD, the PlayStation VR will be compatible with the PS5, the console will be compatible with the PlayStation 4 and the console will support 3D audio and 8k TV.

It’s also worth noting that even though the PS 5 will support 8k TVs, that doesn’t mean it will be fully functional. 8k technology is still new and the PS 5 will most likely need to be updated to fully take advantage of this feature.

3. Specification

Playstation 5 Facts

The PS 5 will include 8 cores and a 16 thread x86-64-AMD Ryzen “Zen2” CPU. This will bring the console in line with the current mid-tier AMD Ryzen 7 processors. Basically, each of the 8 cores is used to complete a task simultaneously, whether that’s navigating the home menu or calculating bullet trajectories.

16-threads will allow for double work with a process called “multi-threading,” so it would appear that the console actually has 16 cores. When it takes to get a lot of things done at once, the more cores the better.

In addition, the PlayStation 5 finally uses Ray-Tracing to the hardware level. Ray-Tracing is a new lighting model that simulates the real world and produces impressive 3D lighting in games.

Well, those are 3 PS 5 facts that have been revealed. What the UI will look like, as well as SSD storage capacity, and whether the controller will have a microphone is still unknown.
