According to gamesindustry, Activision Blizzard has partnered with Sportrader to start monitoring bets in the Overwatch League and Call of Duty League. Through an agreement, Sportrader will observe global betting activity linked to both leagues and report any integrity issues it finds.

This includes issues related to match fixing, misuse of inside information, and other unethical and illegal activities related to betting and gambling. In addition, the company will provide player education about betting risks and rules, including anonymous reporting applications for potential integrity issues.

“As our esports activities continue to grow and as more fans are betting on matches, we need to ensure we do as much as we can to proactively protect our ecosystem,” said Activision Blizzard of head of strategic initiatives Jason Hahn.

Therefore, this is a pretty good step from Activision Blizzard to protect its esports business. Considering the possibility of internal and external parties abusing the esports sector for illegal things. Hopefully Sportrader doesn’t find anything during his surveillance.
