Age of Empires IV will have a slightly further era than the second series

The second series will be the benchmark of the times raised, but a little further.

Since Age of Empires IV announced two years ago, many gamers are looking forward to Microsoft’s legendary RTS game franchise. After going through a long wait, it finally paid off after yesterday Microsoft, World’s Edge, and Relic Entertainment showed off their very epic gameplay. However, the announcement seems to involve a lot of questions, because at a glance the theme they raised goes back to the era that was also raised in the second series. Namely starting the Dark Age (Dark Age) which then ends in the Imperial Age (Age of Imperialism). But that does not mean the similarities will provide the same experience.

Talking to PCGamesN, the game’s Creative Director, Adam Isgreen said that the era they are promoting is medieval, but a little wider in terms of the beginning and end of the era they cover when compared to Age of Empires II. Isgreen continued that Age of Empires IV will begin an era slightly earlier than the Dark Age and will graze the beginning of the Renaissance a little. But he was adamant he didn’t want to give details about the exact time at this time.

If you play the game, then you will know that Age of Empires II will have four ages / centuries called “Ages”. Starting from Dark, Feudal, Medieval, which then ends at Imperial. Specifically, it would be very difficult to determine the year. However, the campaign game starts from Alaric I of the Goths in the 370/375-410s which then continues to the year Francisco de Orellana (1151-1546) with their latest war history which is limited to Noryang Point around the 1598s to become Imperial Age benchmark.

With a slightly further support than Age of Empires II, so Age of Empires IV the possibility can also lift one of the history of Rome.

Isgreen continued that Age of Empires IV will continue to have the four Age rule as in the previous series with the same four natural resources: Gold, Stone, Wood, and Flesh/Food. But he admits that not all civilizations will use it in the same way. Isgreen said this was the main picture, but did not want to go into more detail because it was not the time yet. He also gave a little hint that not all civilizations will be restrained by the four “Ages” rules. “There is also a new aspect to improve the perspective of the rules that RTS games have never done before,” he teased. Indicate that they will provide something more than the rules they have implemented.

Unfortunately, until now Microsoft is still reluctant to give a release date at all. They can only confirm that the game will be released on PC via Steam and the Microsoft Windows Store.
