Apple Says It Will Rename iPhone and iOS

A surprising news came from one of the world’s technology giants, namely Apple. Recently, they are rumored to be changing the name of the operating system for their phones, namely iOS.

This information was first disseminated by one of the famous tech leakers, namely Jon Prosser. He made a very short post, namely “iPhone OS” through his personal social account.

It doesn’t stop there, after posting the tweet, one of the staff from the forum XDA Developers, Max Weinbach responded to Prosser’s tweet. He admitted that if he got an email that said that later Apple would change the name of iOS to iPhone OS and iPhone to Apple Phone.

Dude I got a random email saying Apple would rename iOS to iPhone OS and the iPhone to Apple Phone and I didn’t believe it…

If the information above is correct, then this renaming will make iOS return to using the name when it was first launched in 2007 through the first generation iPhone.

Apple itself has not confirmed the information above, but if it is true, then we will soon find out at the WWDC 2020 event. WWDC is an annual conference event organized by Apple which will be held today.
