Capcom Producers Optimistic RE Village Will Be "The Best Survival Horror Game Today"
After surviving for a dozen years, Capcom reshuffled Resident Evil’s directors into a first-person perspective in the 7th game. In the eighth series called Resident Evil Village, the same perspective will be maintained. However, Capcom said that they have learned many things from the series that have been released.

Through an interview with Official Playstation Magazine (via Wccftech), Peter Fabiano, producer of Capcom believes that Resident Evil Village will be “the best horror survivor game today”.
Resident Evil 4’s inspiration was one of the reasons for this optimism. Fabiano explained that the development team at Capcom have learned a lot from the RE series with the highest rating, which is also a favorite of many fans.
“You’ll notice that we’ve taken a lot of inspiration from Resident Evil 4. The team has worked hard to build an authentic impression. There will be many surprises waiting for you later; players will find the right balance between combat, exploration, and puzzles,” explained Fabiano.
In addition to inspiration from the most popular series, Fabiano also mentioned that the team has carried out a very careful planning process since the release of Resident Evil 7. By sharing information and experiences with each other, he is confident that Resident Evil Village will offer the best.
“The concept and planning process has been something on the minds of developers since the end of Resident Evil VII: Biohazard,” he said. “This really helps us in achieving our vision on target. And because we keep sharing information between teams [developer] Resident Evil, it has really helped us in making [game] which we consider to be the best survival horror at the moment.”
Resident Evil Village is said to be wider than the previous series. And with this more ambitious scale, game director Morimasa Sato once said that this game will offer players “more freedom” in the face of obstacles.
Resident Evil Village will be released for last-gen and next-gen PC and consoles on May 7, 2021.
