Through their latest video, CyberConnect 2 explains the reason why they didn’t release .hack//GU Last Recode to the Nintendo Switch. Hiroshi Matsuyama as the company’s president admitted that they have offered proposals to release the game to Switch several times, even since the development of the PS4 version took place.

This is because they are aware of the popularity of Nintendo’s hybrid console in Japan and around the world. Matsuyama himself said that he personally would love to port the game to the Nintendo Switch.

Unfortunately the request was rejected by Bandai Namco many times. Bandai Namco says that it is difficult to predict the cost of porting and selling its games. Therefore, they could not grant it at all.

But at the end of the video, Matsuyama suggested to fans to ask Bandai Namco directly to present it .hack//GU Last Recode to the Nintendo Switch. Because Bandai Namco will always listen and prioritize the requests of its fans if many fans ask for it. He and the CyberConnect 2 team also promised to help convince them to go along with it.

.hack//GU Last Recode now available on PC via Steam and PlayStation 4. The game will contain all of the trilogy and the conclusion of Haseo, Ovan, and his sister in the fourth episode.
