Def Jam Tease Fans Will Announce New Game If Their Conditions Are Fulfilled

Hearing the name Def Jam might remind some gamers, some who like hip-hop and rap songs must know that Def Jam Recording is a music label. But maybe gamers, especially those who used to play Playstation 2, must have known the name Def Jam in another form, namely a fighting game.

Yes, this Def Jam game series did exist in the Playstation 2 to Playstation 3 era, and perhaps the most memorable is Def Jam: Fight For NY. And as you might expect, this game offers fighting games with characters from famous hip-hop rappers and singers like Snoop Dogg, Xzibit, Ludacris, Ice T, and many others.

The last game itself is Def Jam Icon which was released for Playstation 3 and Xbox 360 in 2007 ago. Which means this franchise has been dormant for about 13 years, and it looks like there’s a chance this year will be the year the game Def Jam returns.

As you can see above, Def Jam Recordings makes nudge which teased the fans that “The streets say they want a new Def Jam game“. This tweet was followed by a message that when their Twitter account reaches 1 million followers, they will have a special announcement for everyone.

This of course means that Def Jam itself has an announcement about a new game, but keeps it until their 1 million follower requirement is met. But seeing that their account has reached 995,000 more followers. So it looks like the new announcement won’t be long.
