Dev. Halo Infinite Smash the Piano to Get In-Game Sound Effect Samples

Sometimes the iconic sound effects you hear from movies and video games come from unexpected sources. What 343 Industries did to Halo Infinite is perhaps the latest example.

We are now officially on the platform Tiktok! Follow our Tiktok account at @gamebrott.com to find various information and our other interesting video content.

In Halo Infinite’s latest video blog, 343i shows the process of getting the sound effects they want and this time it’s through crushing the piano. The sound obtained from destroying all sides of this piano can be utilized in various ways, whether it be through music or during certain intense moments.

343i doesn’t care about destroying pianos. They not only beat him, but they threw bricks at him, smashed each piece of wood, broke the strings, and even put ice cubes to create some kind of alien sounding and creepy sound.

This is not the first experimental technique that the Halo Infinite developer has used to get sound effects for games. Previously they had obtained sound samples from dogs and old farm machinery.

Halo Infinite was delayed from its supposed release late last year. The game is now planned for release this year, but has not yet been confirmed. Game will be released for PC, Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S
