Early Build Gameplay of Need For Speed 2021 Leaks
The Need For Speed series may be the racing game series that experiences the most ups and downs in each new installation. It’s been confirmed that Criterion Games will hold the developer back after the series reboot in 2015 until the Heat yesterday was held by Ghost Games.

There are a lot of hopes and concerns about moving hands back to this series, and maybe we can see a little progress from the game in the early build gameplay video (early build) that leaked onto the internet.
It is not clear through which media the original leaked video was distributed, but the Youtubers themselves quickly made a reaction video to the gameplay leak. One of them is Theo or better known as BlackPanthaa.
In the leaked video itself, it can be seen that the video is still really in the early stages of development and testing, because the details of the world are still very, very simple. With some parts such as the HUD and the loading screen that seems to still use the visuals owned by NFS Heat.
From the initial build, there are some interesting things that can be noticed. The beginning is the handling of the car which seems a bit back to the 2012 Most Wanted / Rival era where the car goes fast despite drifting. Then the car is also still speeding when entering the off-road area. And there are lots of jumps in the map that are reminiscent of the Burnout style that is the hallmark of Criterion Games.
This is certainly a little worrying considering that the Ghost Games studio has tried its best to bring this game series back on the right path through yesterday’s NFS Heat. And if this continues to enter the final game, then there is a possibility that NFS in 2021 will end like MW 2012.
Especially if you watch the video, in the car now there are various animations such as cartoons ranging from light trails, car smoke, air trails on spoilers, to animations when the car flies and lands.
However, BlackPanthaa himself doubted the direction of this style and said that it was due to the unfinished game. And Need For Speed will certainly polish it when the game comes out later.
The fans themselves have many opinions about this gameplay leak. Starting from them believing that EA deliberately leaked the gameplay of Need For Speed to find out how the fans will react because they themselves are confused about where to take this series. And many are becoming pessimistic about the direction the Criterion seems to be taking.
