Kojima Productions Reportedly Will Reveal New Game Soon

After leaving Konami in 2015, Hideo Kojima founded a new game studio called Kojima Productions. The first game from the Japanese-based studio gave birth to Death Stranding which was released in 2019 and received many positive reviews and many awards. Since then, many have been wondering what Kojima Productions’ next project will be and it seems that question will soon be answered.

In his recent interview with YouTube channel Al Hub, the art director of Kojima Productions – Yoji Shinkawa, was asked several questions including how he started his career and what projects he worked on with Kojima. In addition, Shinkawa also said that he is currently “working on something” and will provide more details about the project “in the near future”.

Previously, in October last year, Kojima Productions was found to have opened a new job opening in preparation for an undisclosed project. This seems to be confirmed by the composer of Death Stranding – Ludvig Forssell, after he updated his Twitter profile photo which provoked speculation that he was working on the soundtrack for a mysterious project.

While not much is known about the new project in question, it is undeniable that there is a lot of speculation regarding what game Kojima Productions will release next. At the end of 2020, rumors said that Kojima and his proud studio were working on Death Stranding 2 although until now there has been no confirmation of these rumors.

Then at the end of this month, there were also rumors about Kojima’s new horror game which unfortunately ended up being cancelled. The game is said to be in an episodic format and released exclusively for Google’s cloud streaming platform, Stadia. Unfortunately, the closure of Stadia’s internal studio in early February forced the game to discontinue development.
