Pokemon Anime Temporarily Suspended Due to Corona

Production of the Pokémon anime TV series has been shut down during the coronavirus crisis. The long-running series has been airing in Japan since 1997, with over 1,100 episodes produced so far. But starting next week, Anime News Network reports, the series will be temporarily suspended as Ash and Pikachu’s latest adventure is replaced by an old rerun. This is due to the lockdown due to the Corona pandemic.

Episode 23 (Eurogamers seems to have mistyped the episode numbers) titled “A Big Panic in Sakuragi Park” which was previously scheduled for April 26 will now be shown at a later date. Satoshi (american version of ash, Indonesian version of ali), Pikachu, and Go, are currently exploring the Pokémon globe in a new series that also includes Pokémon Sword and the Shield region in Galar. The latest season hasn’t debuted in English yet but, while you wait, the YouTube-exclusive spinoff series: Pokémon: Twilight Wings is still ongoing.

Therefore, this is a pretty difficult step for Pokemon anime fans. Although, it’s not only Pokemon anime that has been delayed, some anime this season had to be stopped due to the corona emergency in Japan.
