As we already know, cloud gaming is a technology where you can play video games without the need to use the hardware needed to play them. This technology has been around for quite some time, but it’s back to the surface thanks to the hype Google announced its Stadia.

Although cloud gaming has been used by the PlayStation 4 to play some games from the old console. But it looks like the technology will also be implemented on the PlayStation 5. At least according to the latest copyright.

According to a registered copyright patent (in Japanese), it shows how PS1, PS2, and PS3 consoles can be accessed via cloud gaming. Meanwhile, the new image they call “internet game, new client” as tweeted by Renka Schedule gives the PS4 console potential.

Renka Schedule summarizes it with two important points, namely that PS1-PS3 games will be accessible via cloud gaming. That the three consoles can be emulated through a virtual machine designed to mimic how the PlayStation hardware works. In other words, cloud gaming will create its own emulator for the first PlayStation generation to PlayStation 3 so that it can be played on the new console.

Unfortunately, it is not clear whether this patent is directly related to the PlayStation 5. However, the possibility of this happening is quite large considering that the next gen console will be released in the near future.

Of course, we advise you not to fully believe the information above, especially that it is possible that this feature will be adapted by the PlayStation 5 when it is released. Although, it is possible that this feature will also be present on the PlayStation 5.
