PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds or commonly known as PUBG is a popular game that is now competing with many new battle royale games. The report was obtained from Sensor Tower which analyzed information on the total amount of money that PUBG Mobile made in 2020. As a result, more than half of the revenue came from players who spent their money on PUBG Mobile and its Chinese version known as Games for Peace. Based on this data, PUBG Mobile is estimated to generate US$7.4 million per day from player spending alone.
If accumulated, 2020 achieved a total revenue of US$2.7 billion for PUBG Mobile with the first to third quarters averaging US$704 million and the fourth quarter declining to only US$555 million. It is reported that China is the largest market for PUBG Mobile, especially with the presence of a special version, followed by the United States in second and Japan in third.
Sensor Tower said that one of the biggest reasons why PUBG Mobile was so successful was because of its full dedication to players in the mobile gaming market. From in-game events to new seasons, licensing deals and the release of new content on a scale as large as other games like Fortnite and Genshin Impact, everything has managed to entice players to keep playing and “sacrifice” their money.
PUBG Mobile is currently available to play on Android and iOS devices.
