The test servers will be the first to offer cross-play in late September, with the regular PUBG servers expected to get the update in early October.

This was announced when Microsoft rolled out PUBG cross-play support at its Xbox Inside event at Gamescom, but it will only happen for both consoles, namely the PS4 and Xbox One, so those of you who play on PC won’t be able to play together.

“Our first goal with cross platform play was for 100 players from both console communities to be able to play in the same match,” explains Cecilia Lee, Community Manager at PUBG Corporation.

“Our second objective is to increase our matchmaking time, which we expect will be shorter due to the wider number of players and matchmaking.”

Thus, PUBG is the latest in a series of top games that allow cross-save and cross-play support. Previously, Fortnite and Rocket League already supported this platform’s cross-play mode, and it’s rumored that Bungie will also be providing a cross-save update to the game Destiny 2 this week.
