Syrian Warfare, a controversial game about the Syrian war will be released in the near future
The Syrian war that has been going on for years seems to have no end. The conflict even attracted two countries superpower to get involved in it. Not only in Syria, this conflict also caused an immigrant crisis that occurred in Europe.

Recently, a game developer from Russia, Cats Who Play create a game inspired by the conflict. The game is entitled Syrian Warfare. At first, they tried to put the game on Steam Greenlight and they managed to get away with it.
Even though they managed to escape, Syrian Warfare not fully supported by Steam users. Some think that Cats Who Play is inhumane. Because, they made a game based on the ongoing war.
Discussion about games this on Steam has given rise to various topics. One of them is about playable factions. There’s a Steam user asking if we can play as a rebel. One of developer also gave the following answer:
You start playing from a simple cop and watch how the war develops. After a few missions, you can get support from the RF and the game ends in Palmyra. Yes, we know that there is more fighting going on after Palmyra and the anti-ISIS forces are fighting in the real world. However, we didn’t have much time to bring them all into the game from the start. But of course we plan to create new missions and continue the storyline after the release on Steam (like kurdistan or special missions from the anti-ISIS coalition). And one last thing, we don’t give players the opportunity to use terrorist groups, not in singleplayer, or multiplayer when there are. I think it’s a strange thing when someone wants to play this evil assassin, we don’t support it.
In trailers shown, this game is actually quite interesting. The buildings in the game can collapse if hit by a bomb. There are also armored vehicles and helicopters at your disposal. It’s just that, it seems that the release time of this game is considered inappropriate. Because, usually games based on a true story, released after the war actually ended.
