Qualcomm Gives Code Name Lahaina For Snapdragon 875

As usual, every year Qualcomm will launch the next generation flagship chipset, which this year is Qualcomm Snapdragon 875. As in previous years, this chipset will be launched in the fourth quarter of this year.

In this leaked information, it was first released by Roland Quandt. He has revealed that the Snapdragon 875 (SM8350) adopts the codename Lahaina. Taken from a city on Maui, one of the seven Hawaiian Islands.

This flagship processor will be built on a 5nm process. Qualcomm will reportedly introduce a combination of super large core architecture, namely Cortex X1 + Cortex A78. ARM detailed the Cortex X1 core architecture to provide maximum performance that is 30% higher than the Cortex-A77 and 23% higher than the maximum performance of the Cortex-A78 core released at the same time. The machine learning capabilities are said to be twice that of the Cortex-A78.

Furthermore, Qualcomm will no longer use the external baseband design on the Snapdragon 875G but the baseband chip will be integrated with the processor with an overall increase in performance.
