Rocket League2The success of Psyonix was finally glimpsed by Epic Games, where they immediately acquired the developer from San Diego, United States of America. However, this brings him to a new problem, especially for those of you who may be Gabe Newell and Steam fans. This is because they immediately moved Rocket League to the Epic Games Store exclusively.

Psyonix announced that soon Rocket League will change the business model to free-to-play this summer. It’s not clear when they will change it, but they confirmed that when they officially convert the game to free-to-play, the game automatically cannot be purchased on Steam. They will move it to the Epic Games Store.

As a long-time player, you will get Legacy status which gives you all the branded DLC released before the free-to-play, the title “Est. 20XX” which reads the first year you played the game, over 200 items upgraded to “Legacy” quality, Golden Cosmos Boost, Dieci-Oro Wheels, and Huntress banner.

Meanwhile, for those of you who play Rocket League before the announcement today, then you will get Faded Cosmos Boost.

Interestingly, after everything turned into free-to-play, Psyonix introduced a cross-platform progression for Rocket League. In other words, those of you who play it on PC via Steam or the Epic Games Store will be able to continue your progress to PlayStation 4, Switch, or Xbox One.

This move to the Epic Games Store is something that is very natural to happen, considering that Psyonix itself was acquired by Epic Games last year. So, those of you who are still loyal to Gaben seem obliged to buy Rocket League right now before Psyonix moves to the Epic Games Store.

Rocket League now it can be played on PC, PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, and Xbox One. The game will go free-to-play this summer and will move from Steam to the Epic Games Store once the update is implemented.
