Resident Evil Village Brings Back Mercenary Mode, Second 1 Hour Demo Will Be Released

Ahead of the release date which is less than a month, Capcom is back to share the latest info from their latest horror game – Resident Evil Village. Through the latest showcase, Capcom not only provided new trailers and demos. but also announce that this eighth game will bring back the fan favorite extra mode which is mercenary mode.

Mercenary mode will provide an arcade sensation similar to what fans have played in the previous series. However, two major changes have been added to RE Village. Capcom added a shop system where players can buy new weapons, upgrade weapons or just buy other necessities, and they also add skills which can be found in various areas of the map.

As previously mentioned, Capcom has also released a new demo, this time players are invited to peek at the village or palace area for an hour. This demo will be available for all platforms, but can only be played for one day on the following schedule:

North America

  • May 1 at 5pm PT to May 2 at 5pm PT

Europe

  • May 2 at 2am CEST to May 3 at 2am CEST

Asia

  • May 3 at 8am HKT to May 4 at 8am HKT

For PS4 or PS5 users, the demo will be released early. They can try the village and castle area for 30 minutes each. Here is the schedule:

Village session demo:

North America

  • April 17 at 5pm PT to April 18 at 1am PT

Europe

  • April 18 at 7pm CEST to April 19 at 3am CEST

Asia

  • April 18 at 5pm HKT to April 19 at 1am HKT

Castle session demo:

North America

  • April 24 at 5pm PT to April 25 at 1am PT

Europe

  • April 25 at 7pm CEST to April 26 at 3am CEST

Asia

  • April 25 at 5pm HKT to April 26 at 1am HKT

Resident Evil Village will release on May 8 for PC, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, PS4 and PS5.
