Storyline

The Tomb Raider’s Cry!

Lara Croft who we know in the last 2 series, has now become a girl who is getting tougher & wilder, and this time her feud with the Trinity group is still continuing. Trying to prevent the various damage that will be inflicted by Trinity, Lara together with her best friend Jono Jonah, this time trying to get a Chak Chel dagger that Trinity is after.

Lara did manage to find the dagger and retrieve it, but on her way back, Lara was confronted by Trinity troops led by Pedro Dominguez. Seeing the dagger that Lara had found, Dominguez immediately grabbed it and explained that his action of removing Chak Chel’s dagger from its place without another artifact called “Silver Box” would bring about various major disasters that claimed many lives.

Pedro Dominguez, one of Trinity’s leaders.

And sure enough, after Dominguez said that, a huge tsunami came and devastated the entire city, causing the loss of innocent lives. Of course, this is a harsh reality where Lara is responsible for the loss of many lives because of her actions.

Lara’s actions caused a disaster that claimed many lives.

Not only tsunami, there will be another massive disaster coming, to stop this, Lara must immediately seize Chak Chel’s dagger & find the Silver Box. On the other hand, Dominguez & Trinity also want to get the Silver Box for an ambition, of course Lara’s journey will not be easy, because she will face Trinity and various other dangers.

The danger that was targeting Lara didn’t just come from Trinity alone.

The various obstacles faced will gradually affect Lara’s mentality as an ordinary human, can Lara get these two artifacts and stop the apocalypse in the Mayan legend? You can only find the answer by playing Shadow of the Tomb Raider.

Can Lara stop the various disasters she causes?

Emotional story but lack of characterization

The story presented is actually too short, but still interesting to follow, the character Lara as the protagonist who is tough but still fragile as an ordinary person, becomes an attraction in itself. Despite her toughness as an unstoppable “tomb raider”, she is still a girl who has feelings as an ordinary person, who can still cry bitterly when humanitarian problems come to her.

Exploring Lara’s past, almost everything about Lara.

But unfortunately, the characterizations presented are uneven and seem to rely on Lara alone, characters like Dominguez & Jonah do get quite a portion. While the other important characters seem to be presented half-heartedly and not wholeheartedly, this is what makes the story Shadow of the Tomb Raider which is actually good doesn’t feel optimal because of the half-hearted character.
