[Rumor] PlayStation 5 Pre-Order will be limited to 1 unit per buyer

Gamers who are interested in pre-ordering the PlayStation 5 to get it on the first day of release will likely be limited to 1 Unit / User only by Sony. This information comes from a Resetera user who found it in the source code of the PlayStation Direct Shop site via JavaScript.

We are now officially on the platform Tiktok! Follow our Tiktok account at @gamebrott.com to find various information and our other interesting video content.

When he tries to pre-order more than one PlayStation 5 console, an error message appears that reads:

“You can only buy one version of the PS5 console: Disc Or Digital. You have added a PS5 console to your shopping cart.”

This information is a strong signal that Sony seems to be limiting the number of PlayStation 5 purchases per unit. Even if this news is true, the problem of disrupted development due to the COVID-19 pandemic may be the main reason behind this policy. Or maybe Sony did it to prevent hoarding and reselling cases that could potentially damage the market price of the PlayStation 5 later.

But again, this news is just a rumor, the truth of which is not necessarily true and has not been confirmed at all by Sony until now. Therefore, we are waiting for the official information some time in the future.

The PlayStation 5 itself is planned to be released in the holiday season or around the end of 2020.
