Initially, Six Days in Fallujah was a game developed by Konami. However, in 2009, Konami decided to cancel the development of the game because it received a lot of negative criticism from the public. Now, 11 years later, the game that tells the story of the Iraq war has been re-developed by Golem Studio Highware which was founded by Jaime Griesemer, a former lead designer from the game Halo: Combat Evolved and Marty O’Donnel, former director and composer from the game Halo and Destiny.

Six Days in Fallujah tells the true story of the second war in the city of Fallujah, Iraq. Where there was a ceasefire between the United States, Britain, and Iraq with militants from the Al-Qaeda group. More than 2000 people became victims in the war, both from both camps and civilians. And it wasn’t just casualties, 5000 buildings such as houses, schools, and even places of worship were also destroyed because of the war.

After the war, a number of surviving soldiers contacted Konami to develop a game based on the war. With the aim of commemorating one of the greatest armistices in history. However, this was certainly criticized by the community and drew a lot of criticism from veterans and also the families of the victims. Therefore Konami decided to cancel the development of Six Days in Fallujah.

Now, the developer of Golem Studio Highware promises that the adoption of the story of the Fallujah war will be better received by the public. They stated that the bravery and sacrifice of the soldiers in the war of Fallujah needs to be remembered to inspire the modern generation. Currently, the game Six Days in Fallujah is available for you to Wishlist on the Steam platform and is also planned to be released on the console platform this year.
