When explaining further about Kingdom Hearts Dark Road which is a game by the team behind Kingdom Hearts Union Cross, Nomura said that there are still two more projects being worked on by other development teams, one of which will even arrive in the near future. It’s still unclear whether he meant a “game as service” like Kingdom Hearts Union Cross or Kingdom Hearts Dark Road.
However, with such a short processing time, it is unlikely that the game that will be announced in the near future is an AAA game project in the class of Kingdom Hearts III. Given that, as we all know, Kingdom Hearts III alone took years to work on until it was released in 2019.
Meanwhile, what caught the attention of fans was the other game project that was widely speculated on was Verum Rex. A game set in the Toy Story universe of Kingdom Hearts III. With the main protagonist Yozora in the spotlight and even being the secret boss in the ReMind DLC, many fans predict that Verum Rex will most likely be the next game that Tetsuya Nomura will work on with the team. Is that right? we certainly look forward to further news.
