The Battle System in Ghost of Tsushima will be more difficult than we saw in the trailer

With the release of his game approaching, Sucker Punch Productions seems to be starting to aggressively share the latest information to several well-known gaming media. Likewise with what they did recently, through his interview session with IGN, Nate Fox as Game Director Ghost of Tsushima again shared information about his game. This time he explained several aspects that had not been shown through State of Play some time ago.

We are now officially on the platform Tiktok! Follow our Tiktok account at @gamebrott.com to find various information and our other interesting video content.

One of them is combat, maybe many think that the combat system in this game will be very easy, considering that Jin Sakai the main character is shown as a samurai who is able to defeat his opponent with just one slash. But actually the battle system in this game itself will be more difficult than we think.

“We try to present the gameplay as realistic as possible, therefore just a few enemy attacks will kill you. This game is very challenging. We have three words to describe the combat system in this game: Mud (mud), blood (blood), and steel (steel).

He admits that the formula itself is inspired by samurai-themed films, which always feature scenes where someone can be killed with just one or two slashes of the enemy’s sword. He also said that the battle against the Mongols in this game was not easy.

We can’t just attack the camp and fight against five enemies there without any preparation, this reckless action will most likely overwhelm Jin and eventually die. This is what makes the battle system so challenging but rewarding at the same time.

One thing he regrets not showing on State of Play last week is a feature of a one-on-one duel against another skilled swordsman that truly represents a classic samurai movie of the past. Makes this game even more interesting to wait for.

Ghost of Tsushima itself is planned to be released on July 17, 2020 exclusively on PlayStation 4.
