The Impromptu Team Wins the 2018 PBGC Tournament Selection in Yogyakarta

Point Blank Garena Championship/PBGC 2018 has started! This tournament is divided into 3 preliminary stages, namely city tournament, regional tournament, and last PBGC Finals. Date 10 – 11 February then became the last day of the preliminary city tournaments, one of which was held in Yogyakarta. Later the winner of this tournament will compete in a regional tournament which will be held on 3 and 4 March 2018. After that, the winners were met in the final which was also held in March at Medan city.

Taking place at Supernova Cybercafe, the Yogyakarta city tournament was very exciting. A total of 50 teams were registered as participants. These participants are given the freedom if they want to bring their personal equipment. However, the committee limits it to only bringing mousepads, keyboards, headsets, and also mouse. Macro devices are also not allowed to be brought. Tournament mode using ‘Bomb Mission’ with a time per round of 3 minutes, and the match system in this city tournament is single elimination.

In the Yogyakarta city tournament, the team MRALT217AFS_UG Successfully become the champion and prepare to advance to the regional tournament. Uniquely, this team was only formed from 2 weeks ago. Even at the time of participating in the tournament, this team did not wear costumes like some other teams did. “We train every day” said the team captain when Gamebrot inquired about their preparation before taking part in this city tournament.

The competing teams did not come from the city of Jogja alone. Several teams came from other cities such as Purworejo and Bogor. When asked about the matches that have been passed, several teams admitted that they felt fun during the match, while the new teams found it difficult to beat their rivals.
