The Reason Capcom Canceled Reboot Dino Crisis and Several Other Games Finally Revealed

Capcom is of course now one of the developers and publishers who have gained a lot of success and praise through their recent games. Call it the presence of Monster Hunter and its Iceborne expansion and Devil May Cry V which satisfy the fans. Not to mention the Resident Evil project since its 7th series and followed by a reboot of RE2, RE3, which is considered a little less satisfying, and even a RE4 reboot which is rumored to be in the works.

Seeing the reboot trend used by Capcom for the Resident Evil series, many fans certainly hope that Capcom will also look at their old titles to get the same treatment. However, from the latest reports, it seems that hope must be buried deep because Capcom’s headquarters in Japan is rumored to have killed off some of their old game titles that were originally planned to be rebooted.

Through a report from independent journalist Liam Robertson on his Youtube channel DidYouKnowGaming? explained at length what had actually happened with Capcom behind the frenzy of the success of its games, which also affected the games that were being worked on and would be released in the future.

It was briefly reported that looking back, especially at the Capcom Vancouver studio which was originally Blue Castle Games, where they were the studio responsible for the hack and slash zombie series – Dead Rising, which turned out to have been experiencing difficulties since the second series. And reached its climax when releasing Dead Rising 4 which failed in the market, which made the series lose its chance to get a 5th series and even the studio finally closed in 2018.

And further it was finally discovered that Capcom Vancouver itself had provided the idea to work on a reboot for Dino Crisis about 5 years ago. However, in interviews conducted by Robertson, it was discovered that the idea was rejected by Japan’s Capcom because at that time it was unwilling to make significant investments in the new technology needed to work on the project.

What’s even more surprising (or even sadder) is that Dino Crisis isn’t the only game that’s refused to reboot. There are several other games with the same fate, including Resident Evil – Code: Veronica X, Onimusha revival, and other games. sides scroll Mega Man.

Capcom itself is now probably still busy with Resident Evil, which continues to be rumored to be announcing its 8th series soon and of course the RE 4 reboot project which has yet to rise to the surface. Not to mention the other games that are also being prepared for release in 2020. With so many rumors floating around the internet it seems still very gray to see a potential reboot of Capcom’s other titles.
