Trapped in Legal Troubles, Friday the 13th: The Game Stops Update New Content

Developers were forced to stop releasing updates.

Released as a multiplayer survival horror game adapted from an old film with the same title, it seems that it actually gives problems for the developers. Make them have to stop completely to provide updates.

We are now officially on the platform Tiktok! Follow our Tiktok account at @gamebrott.com to find various information and our other interesting video content.

The problem comes from the original film’s creator, namely the Producer and Director, Sean Cunningham and its Writer, Victor Miller. Reported by PC Gamer, it is stated that Miller is trying to withdraw their copyright in American legal entities to give back the rights, while Cunningham who currently owns the copyright says that Miller was hired to write the script and does not have the rights to get the franchise’s copyright.

The case, which has not yet been completed, makes Gun Media inevitably have to stop updating its game content and only focus on server maintenance. “We can’t add any content including new rocks or trees in the game. All we can do is focus on server maintenance and bug fixes,” said Gun Media Founder and President, Wes Keltner.
