With the WFH trend, the demand for laptop and desktop computers has increased drastically. Of course this has resulted in an increase in Windows 10 users around the world.

This information was obtained from the earnings call of its latest financial report on April 27 yesterday. In the report, Microsoft announced that the number of Windows 10 users would increase by 300 million in 2020.

Thus, the overall users of Windows 10 have now reached 1.3 billion. A year ago, in March 2020, Windows 10 users were still in the range of 1 billion.

This number is increasing every year, in March 2019 Windows 10 users still reached 800 million.

Currently, not all computer users are already using Windows 10. This fact is obtained from a research conducted by Kaspersky, in that research they revealed that 22 percent of PC users still stick with Windows 7 where the OS is no longer supported by security updates.

Microsoft also announced in its financial report that the first quarter ended on March 31, 2021. They managed to record revenues of 41.7 billion US dollars or around 605 trillion rupiah.

This figure turned out to be higher than the forecast of analysts who projected revenues of US$41.03 billion (around Rp. 595 trillion). In Q1 2021, Microsoft earned a net profit of USD 15.5 billion (approximately IDR 224 trillion), which is an increase of 44 percent year over year (YoY).
