Metro Exodus PC Enhanced Edition will utilize ray tracing technology developed and optimized by 4A Games itself. This technology can be used on both NVIDIA and AMD GPUs, although NVIDIA GPUs are one step ahead for DLSS 2.0 support. So far, there is no word on whether AMD’s rival DLSS, DirectML Super Resolution, will be supported.

Furthermore, Deep Silver and 4A Games confirmed that the update will not be provided via a patch. Instead, it will be released as a separate version that Metro Exodus owners can download for free on the Epic Games Store, Steam and GOG. Metro Exodus PC Enhanced Edition will be available this spring.

In addition to the variant with more stunning visuals, 4A Games also announced that Metro Exodus will be released on Mac and Linux in March and later this year, respectively. Ray-tracing support is also confirmed for PS5 and Xbox Series X/S in the near future.

The PS5 version will be able to run at 4K/60fps with haptic feedback support for DualSense, while the Xbox Series X/S version will also run at 4K/60fps (only for XSX) and support spatial audio features as well as improvements in controller latency.

Metro Exodus itself is the conclusion of the Metro game series which is currently available on PS4, Xbox One and PC, as well as PS5 and Xbox Series X/S via backward compatible.
