Wins Over 200 Awards, The Last of Us 2 Becomes the Most Award-Winning Game of 2020

With the turn of the new year, the announcement of the best game or “Game of The Year” has become a tradition for every media. This year, The Last of Us Part 2 has won the most awards, even though the newest Naughty Dog game has been controversial since its release in June 2020.

According to data from Game Awards, a site that tracks and counts the number of awards a game wins each year, Naughty Dog has bagged more than 200 2020 awards so far and still counting seeing as some media haven’t announced their version of the best game.

The success of TLOU 2 in winning this many awards is the third time Naughty Dog has achieved the same achievement. Previously, the studio was also flooded with that many awards with the release of Uncharted 2 in 2009 and the first The Last of Us in 2013.

Meanwhile, Hades, produced by indie studio Supergiant Games, became the second game of 2020 with the most awards for the best game. The roguelite game won 47 awards, followed by Ghost of Tsushima with 38 awards.
