Cybepunk 2077 Takes Much Inspiration from Deus Ex and Vampire The Masquerade

After being a mystery for more than 6 years, CDPR has shown the initial gameplay of Cyberpunk 2077 a few months ago. However, the CDPR said that the final result would be much different from what they had previously shown.

Like every game in general, there are many things that inspire developers at CDPR. Mateusz Tomaszkiewicz, the quest director of this game, said that his two favorite RPG games – Deus Ex and Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines – were his main inspirations during the development of this game.

“For me personally, Vampire Bloodlines. What RPG looks like in a first-person perspective and the gameplay and dialogue are not linear, this game is certainly (the inspiration). The point is (Vampire Bloodlines) is a perfect example of a first-person mixed RPG game that I personally enjoy.”

“And maybe the Deus Ex franchise, especially the first game. This game had a tremendous impact on me as a developer and also when I played it many years ago. What I like about the game is that you can complete missions in various ways. Not only in the way you pick up dialogue, you have lots of options and lots of gaps to enter the building, as well as various other things that can open up new entrances.”

“The bottom line is, Vampire Bloodlines and Deus Ex, those two games were my biggest inspiration.”

Cyberpunk 2077 is confirmed to be present at E3 this year. The game hasn’t got a release date yet but it will most likely be announced at gaming’s biggest annual event.
