7 Major Hearthstone Game Changes in the Year of the Phoenix Season

This March Hearthstone will start a new season. In this new season, named Year of the Phoenix, there are some big changes given by Blizzard as the developer. The changes are aimed at making the Hearthstone game again booming and trending again among digital card game players.

We are now officially on the platform Tiktok! Follow our Tiktok account at @gamebrott.com to find various information and our other interesting video content.

So what major changes have Blizzard made to Hearthstone? Here are the details:

1. Card Duplicate Protection

Hearthstone players now don’t have to worry about opening card packs. The latest system from Blizzard allows players not to get duplicate cards that have been obtained. As a result, players have a greater chance to collect all the cards in the game and can make the deck they want even faster. Players don’t have to bother anymore to craft duplicate cards into dust again.

2. Free Decks

For new players or old players who want to make a comeback to the Hearthstone game, Blizzard has a special gift for them. The special prize is a free deck. Players can choose the class and type of deck they want themselves from the list provided by Blizzard.

3. New Class: Demon Hunter

Demon Hunter was first introduced in Year of the Phoenix by Blizzard and became the tenth class in the Hearthstone game. Demon Hunter has the ability to increase attack damage by 1 at any price of 1. Demon Hunter can be an alternative for players to play aggressively in a new way in the Hearthstone game.

4. New Expansion: Ashes of Outland

In addition to the emergence of a new class, Blizzard also introduced a new expansion called Ashes of Otland. In this Ashes of Otland expansion there are new cards and game mechanics. Ashes of Outland supports several classes including Priest and Demon Hunter.

5. New Ranking System

If previously to reach Legend rank players had to increase their rank from 25 to 1, now in the new rank system it will be made more different. The rank system will be divided into 5 leagues namely Bronze, Silver, Gold, Platinum, and Diamond before reaching Legend rank. Each league has 10 divisions that players must climb before reaching a new league.

6. Hall of Fame

Old cards are also not spared from the latest update by Blizzard. There are some cards that enter the hall of fame where these cards can no longer be used in standard mode play and can only be played in the wild. Priest and Classic cards that have entered the Hearthstone Hall of Fame include Auchenai Soulpriest, Northshire Cleric, Leeroy Jenkins, Acolyte of Pain, etc.

7. Balancing Games

in the previous season it seemed that the Priest class had a low winrate. Because of this Blizzard is currently trying to give him a buff. Moreover, several cards from Priest were also entered into the Hall of Fame. Instead Blizzard changed some of the old Priest cards such as Power Word: Shield, Shadow Word: Death, Holy Smite, etc., as well as gave some new cards that support Priest such as Psychic Conjurer, Shadow Word: Ruin, Natalie Seline, etc.

Those were some of the major changes that occurred in Hearthstone. Hopefully in the future, with this big update from Blizzard Entertainment, it can make the Hearthstone game more competitive and more interesting to play again.
