After 20 Years of Service, Overwatch Lead Writer Leaves Blizzard

This Overwatch game that uses the multiplayer first-person shooter genre has a pretty good reputation among gamers. Comes with good gameplay, character designs that are fairly good until some make them waifu, and a competitive system that even enters the E-Sport class. Unfortunately, Overwatch’s Lead Writer Michael Chu left Blizzard Entertainment after 20 years of working to pursue a new dream.

Michael Chu announced his departure from Blizzard on Wednesday. He is a major contributor to the Overwatch and lore stories. Apart from Overwatch he has also written for other blizzard games such as Diablo 3, World of Warcraft, and the in-development Overwatch 2.

Chu wrote original stories for many of the game’s characters through comics and several short fiction stories. In addition, he was a leading team member at the BlizzCon event where Chu explained the story and development of Overwatch.

Chu didn’t say what his future plans are, but he hopes to continue to channel stories and build a world that connects people through games.

Blizzard is currently working on Overwatch 2 which will carry a story-based campaign. Overwatch 2 has yet to get a definite release date.
