Amnesia: Rebirth Presents a New Mode That Eliminates All Elements of the Horror Game
Created by an indie developer who is known to be proficient in concocting horror games – Frictional Games, Amnesia: Rebirth offers a gripping essence that is second to none. The game is full of monsters, high tension and unexpected surprises. However, Frictional sees that Amnesia: Rebirth is more than just a mainstream horror game with a chilling atmosphere.

The Swedish developer believes that another attraction of Amnesia: Rebirth is that the story is still interesting to follow even without the accompanying horror elements. Therefore, Frictional finally decided to “throw away” the horror taste of Amnesia: Rebirth through a new mode called Adventure Mode.
To be clear, the creative lead Amnesia: Rebirth – Fredrik Olsson explains what Adventure Mode is in a short video uploaded to YouTube. This mode is said to remove all threats including monsters and jumpscares. Furthermore, Adventure Mode lowers tension by eliminating eerie sound effects and lighting up areas or rooms that were previously dark in regular mode.
To replace the missing horror elements, Frictional also adds some bonus puzzles to strengthen the mystery genre that is carried without the need to scare players. This is an answer for players who are afraid of the “mystery quality” of Amnesia: Rebirth to be lacking after the horror elements are removed.
Frictional confirmed that Adventure Mode is now available for the PC version, followed by the PS4 version next week. The mode is presented as a free update for anyone with Amnesia: Rebirth.
Amnesia: Rebirth is currently available to play on PS4 and PC via Steam, Epic Games Store and GOG.
