Previously, FC Barcelona was trying to target competitions or tournaments in China and the US to develop their esports team. The collaboration with Tencent will take the form of exchanging information, education, and developing the esports industry with the aim of exploring and collaborating between the sports and video game industries through esports events. Reportedly, the initial step of this collaboration is that the FC Barcelona e-Sports team itself will be included in the Legaue of Legends Pro League, considering that Tencent itself is a full shareholder of Riot Games.
The step taken by Barcelona itself is the right step considering that Tencent itself has so far held several shares from game developers who have esports tournaments such as Clash Royale, Fortnite, PUBG, Ranibow Six, Call of Duty, and Overwatch. and Tencent will be a new era for the video and sports industry. Let’s see later, where will Tencent’s collaboration with the team defended by Lionel Messi lead to?
