CSGO Anti-Cheat Mode, “Trusted-Mode” Has Problem

Trusted Mode has been buggy since its release.

The problem of cheating in competitive video games is an old problem that will never end. The various ways that developers have done to deal with it are not infrequently always penetrated by these naughty players. Making the term that is often used by edgy Indonesian children, “no system is safe” which is taken from a film into a reality that has been running for years.

Cheating has become routine for some games. Especially shooter games that are almost never absent are victims. Not a few developers who have difficulty dealing with their actions. Including veteran developers like Valve, with Counter-Strike: Global Offensive or CSGO which they are now free of charge along with the release of the battle royale mode Danger Zone a few months ago.

Unlike modern shooter games, Valve’s anti-cheat is indeed very easy to penetrate. It is proven by the many cheaters that roam out there. Even though they were still overwhelmed with it. But through the latest update CSGO named “Trusted-Mode”, they were finally able to provide a new solution for the game, namely by limiting the cheat software from accessing the game files.

However, not long since Trusted-Mode was released, the anti-cheat actually experienced problems with recording and streaming software such as OBS. This free program for recording and livestreaming, which is often used by streamers and content creators, can no longer be used with CSGO.

Even so, you can still do it by using the window capture mode feature of OBS. In other words, you won’t be able to record your activities while playing CSGO fullscreen and change the game settings to windowed fullscreen to record or livestream.

Valve itself understands that such problems will occur. But you can’t do anything. They only provide a solution by turning off Trusted-Mode to Untrusted which can be done by adding the “-untrusted” command in the game launch options settings.

But doing untrusted mode will give you various problems. One of them is the “Trust score” which decreases until disconnecting.

Valve’s move to provide “Trusted-Mode” deserves a thumbs up because they don’t do the same thing with anti-cheats Valorant which installs its own monitoring program. But this mode seems to have problems with other software that is not related to it. So, still want to take it off?
