Pokemon Legends: Arceus Announced for Nintendo Switch, Brings Open World Focus!

At a special event – Pokemon Presents taking place today, The Pokemon Company revealed something that fans have been wanting for a long time. Yep, something that is meant is a Pokemon game with an adventure and open world genre, namely Pokemon Legends: Arceus. Announced alongside the HD remake for Pokemon Diamond and Pearl, Arceus is slated to launch next year.

We are now officially on the platform Tiktok! Follow our Tiktok account at @gamebrott.com to find various information and our other interesting video content.

Arceus will be a prequel to Diamond and Pearl and is set in the Sinnoh region in a period that seems long before other Pokemon games. Arceus will also present several iconic monsters such as Rowlet, Oshawott and Cyndaquil as players’ adventure partners. It was explained that Arceus would move away from the standard Pokemon formula by offering completely new gameplay mechanics.

In the released trailer, it was also shown that players will now explore a vast open world without having to fight if they want to catch a Pokemon. Even so, players still have to fight a number of Pokemon when they want to access certain parts of the game. However, unlike most Pokemon games, there are no more transitions when entering battles in Arceus.

Then, the trailer closes with the appearance of Arceus himself who incidentally is one of the legendary and strongest Pokemon in the Pokemon universe. Unfortunately, there are no further details regarding the story plot or what role Arceus will take in this game.

Pokemon Legends: Arceus is set to be released exclusively on the Nintendo Switch in early 2022.
