The Canceled Remaster of GoldenEye 007 Now Widespread on the Internet

GoldenEye 007 is one of the revolutionary FPS console games. Not only that, this game from Rare Studio is also labeled as one of the best film adaptation games for many media and netizens. With such a classic status, it’s only natural that the game will get a re-release or even a remaster. Unfortunately, the main difficulty in this kind of film-based game is the legality and property rights that make developers dizzy.

Unexpectedly, GoldenEye 007 turned out to be remastered, and in fact it is almost finished and playable until the end. However, development of the game was canceled due to rights issues between Rare, Microsoft, Nintendo and the company that owns the film.

13 years after its planned release date, the game has finally leaked to the public. The ROM data of the Xbox 360 version is spread over the internet and for PC players, they can play it via emulators.

This game is a remaster similar to Halo Master Chief Collection where players can switch visuals between classic and new at the click of a button. In terms of gameplay and sound, there doesn’t seem to be a drastic change, but this could be because the leaked ROM is basically an unfinished version where some of the content is still filled with placeholders.

Emulators and ROMs are case sensitive, that’s why we won’t share them in this article. But you can find it easily on the internet.
