The Last of Us: Part 2 Banned from Release in Saudi Arabia and Other Middle Eastern Countries

The Last of Us: Part 2 became one of the most anticipated games of the year, but unfortunately not all players can access this game easily. The PS4 community in the Middle East will find it difficult to get the game because the game is not allowed to be officially released in that region.

We are now officially on the platform Tiktok! Follow our Tiktok account at @gamebrott.com to find various information and our other interesting video content.

The game has been promoted by the official Playstation Twitter account in the region and is even included in the official page for the Arab region, but the page to buy the game itself cannot be accessed at all. To be sure, one Reddit user asked for confirmation from Playstation Support. As a result, the answer he got made sure the game was blocked from being released in the middle east.

The Last of Us: Part 2 includes many LGBT aspects in the game, starting from the protagonist, Ellie, who is a lesbian and one of the characters who is reported to be a transgender woman. This aspect is most likely the reason why the game was banned from being released there.

Of course there is always a gap for Middle Eastern gamers to still be able to access the game. They can always buy games in other regions and third-party stores will be more likely to keep stock of games of this size even with the existing ban, allowing many gamers there to still be able to play the sequel to Ellie’s story on release day.

The Last of Us: Part 2 will release on June 19, 2020 exclusively for PS4.
