WB Montreal Officially Postpones Gotham Knights to 2022

Despite the lack of information regarding Gotham Knights in recent months, fans are still clinging to the hope that the game will still be released this year. Unfortunately, this hope was dashed after WB Montreal as the developer announced that the spin-off of the Batman game series was officially postponed to next year.

Through its official Twitter account, WB Montreal explained that the reason why Gotham Knights was pushed back to 2022 was to provide the “best experience” for fans. However, many suspect that the main reason is development affected by the COVID-19 pandemic, considering that another WB Interactive project, Hogwarts Legacy, was postponed for this reason.

WB Interactive itself announced Gotham Knights last summer at the DC Fandome event. Gotham Knights is described as an action-adventure co-op game set in Gotham City which is no longer guarded by its main superhero – Batman. Told that Bruce Wayne alias Batman died in a big explosion, but before that he had time to make a message to his colleagues who are still alive to continue his duties.

Not only one, there are four main stars in Gotham Knights, namely Red Hood, Batgirl, Nightwing and Robin. Players can choose one of the four characters and play with friends who use other characters. The main enemy in the Gotham Knights itself is the Court of Owls – a secret society for generations consisting of the richest families in Gotham.

Gotham Knights is scheduled to launch for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One and PC.
