Scientists Use Games as a Means to Fight Corona Virus!

Not long ago, the whole world was shocked by the emergence of a virus called Corona in China, precisely in the city of Wuhan. Until now, this virus is increasingly spreading to various parts of the world such as Japan, Korea and Indonesia itself. This virus is known to have claimed thousands of lives when it was first discovered a few weeks ago in China.

Of course, this Corona virus is an enemy for scientists and medical experts. Where they continue to strive to minimize the spread of the virus and find the best healing method. Of the many methods that have been taken, who would have thought if there were parties who would use a game as a means to find ways to combat the Corona virus.

Utilizing a Game Called Foldit

The scientists were a group from the University of Washington in Seattle, where they used a game called Foldit to observe the workings and structure of proteins. Because the Corona Virus itself has a protein coat that can bind strongly to human cells.

Trying to Find a Healing Method

Well, these scientists are trying to see how the protein works more clearly if it is added to the protein structure of the Corona virus in the Foldit game. If they succeed in designing a protein that can bind to the protein of the Corona virus, then this new protein could be used to close the interaction of the virus with human cells and stop infection.

But unfortunately, for now this research has not produced results. But it will be very interesting later if Foldit can produce a new effective healing method for this virus outbreak. Hopefully in the future scientists or medical experts will find a healing method to eradicate this very troubling virus.
