India Removes 118 Apps Considered Stealing Personal Data

Currently, several countries are doing the deletion of certain applications. The United States issued an order to remove Tiktok on charges of personal data collection. China also carried out the removal of some unauthorized apps in the App Store in collaboration with Apple.

Reporting from Gameindustry, India removed 118 apps that stole personal data. Previously, 59 applications had been deleted since June. India’s Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology released a list of 118 blocked apps according to the ministry’s statement that “they engage in activities detrimental to India’s sovereignty and integrity, India’s defense, state security and public order.”

The ministry also added that it had received reports that some apps were “stealing and secretly transmitting user data in an unauthorized manner to servers having locations outside India.”
